Replace Outdoor Spigot Siding

Replacing a broken spigot does not require a plumber but you should feel comfortable working with a soldering blowtorch to ensure you can safely complete the task.

Step 1 locate the main water shutoff valve for your house and turn it off. Requires no special tools no soldering no cri. Exterior faucets or spigots use compression valves and are among the least complicated of faucets to repair. Normally a fairly easy job but i ran into an issue.

If your faucet still leaks the stem may be leaking and you should replace the faucet.

Step 3 prepare the pipe to receive the new faucet. On frost proof faucets the washer is located on the end of the long faucet stem. If your faucet leaks out of the spout when it s turned off the washer is bad. Below are the products i used affiliate.
